We recommend spot cleaning or gentle hand-washing only, as automatic washing machines can crush the structured foam crown. For everyday dust or marks, dab the cap gently using a soft cloth, cold water, and a drop of mild detergent, taking care to clean around the graphic rather than scrubbing across it. If a deeper wash is needed, submerge it briefly in cold water without soaking, and avoid stiff brushes, bleach, or fabric softeners. To dry, gently blot out excess moisture with a towel and let it air-dry away from direct sunlight over a rounded object (like a rolled towel or ball) to preserve its shape.

What is Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing?
Direct-to-Film (DTF) is an advanced digital printing process where your artwork is printed onto a specialized PET transfer film, dusted with a heat-activated bonding adhesive powder, and transferred onto the cap using a curved commercial heat press. This technique delivers rich color saturation, razor-sharp line work, and exceptional flexibility that flexes naturally with the foam crown.
Do you offer embroidery, Direct-to-Garment (DTG), or screen printing for caps?
Not at this time. Our custom headwear is decorated exclusively using premium Direct-to-Film (DTF) transfer film. This method captures photographic gradients, tiny graphic accents, and multi-color logos with incredible clarity without the high digitizing fees or color count limitations of embroidery or screen printing.
Where can my design be printed on the trucker cap?
Printing is available exclusively on the structured front foam panel. The printable area supports a minimum footprint of 1.25" W x 0.5" H up to a maximum size of 3.5" W x 1.75" H. We do not currently print on the curved peak, side mesh panels, or back strap.
What are the minimum and maximum artwork limits?
Maximum Front Print Area: 3.5" W x 1.75" H. This ensures your graphic sits cleanly across the front sweet spot, prevents visual distortion over the crown's curvature, and avoids edge cool zones on the heat press.
Minimum Standalone Graphic Area: 1.25" W x 0.5" H. Individual standalone graphics smaller than this do not hold enough adhesive powder surface area and risk peeling at the corners over time.
What line weights, font sizes, and detail limits apply to cap graphics?
To ensure maximum bond strength and prevent details from lifting, standalone unbacked design elements must follow these technical guidelines:
Stroke / Line Width: Minimum 6 pt (2.12 mm). While fine lines down to 1.4 pt can physically transfer, 6 pt ensures sufficient adhesive powder contact.
Font Height: Minimum 10 pt (3.5 mm). This keeps closed letter openings (counters in letters like e, a, and o) from clogging with ink or adhesive powder.
Isolated Elements: Minimum 5 mm diameter. Standalone dots, stars, or fine legal marks (such as Β© or β’) under 5 mm lack the surface area to anchor firmly to the foam.
Workaround for Micro-Details: If your logo includes intricate flourishes or smaller text, place a solid contour background shape or stroke behind the artwork (the "sticker cut" method). A solid base provides 100% adhesive contact, allowing fine interior graphics to render cleanly.
Can I print trademarked logos, famous characters, or brand marks?
By uploading artwork, you confirm that you are the legal owner or hold explicit, written authorization from the copyright or trademark holder to reproduce the material, and that the design does not infringe on third-party intellectual property rights. We do not independently verify copyright licensing; customers assume full legal and financial responsibility for any infringement claims or legal expenses resulting from unauthorized reproduction. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any job suspected of violating copyright or trademark protections.
Will printed cap colors match my digital screen exactly?
Screens render colors using RGB light spectrums, whereas commercial garment equipment prints using physical CMYK ink sets. In addition, the white underbase and underlying fabric tone can create minor tonal variations compared to a backlit display. While our equipment is color-calibrated to deliver faithful reproduction, an exact 1:1 match to uncalibrated monitors cannot be guaranteed.
Can I order a cap color that isn't currently listed on the site?
Our online catalog displays our core in-stock colorways. For larger wholesale or bulk runs, we may be able to source extended AS Colour colorways upon request. Reach out to our customer support team with your target color and order quantity to see what options are available.
Can the interior AS Colour tags be removed?
Yes. AS Colour Frame Foam Trucker Caps include tear-away interior labels, allowing you to easily rip them out to add your own custom branding or private-label tags.
Will there be subtle print placement variances between individual caps?
Yes. While every hat is individually loaded and manually aligned against strict positioning guides on the curved press, slight variances (typically within 0.25" to 0.5") can occur between items due to the manual loading process.
Can I purchase blank, unprinted trucker caps?
No. Under our agreement as an authorized AS Colour apparel decorator, we supply garments solely as custom-decorated merchandise. We cannot sell blank, unprinted AS Colour products.
