How should I care for and wash my custom t-shirt?
To keep your print looking vibrant and prevent premature wear, machine wash the shirt inside out on a gentle cold-water cycle with like colors, then line-dry in the shade. Do not tumble dry, bleach, dry clean, or use fabric softeners. Never apply an iron directly to the printed designβif pressing is required, iron the garment inside out or place parchment paper over the graphic first.
Please see our care instructions in the downloads section for more information.
Is there a minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
No. You are welcome to order a single custom t-shirt! For multi-shirt runs, team orders, or brand merchandise, simply enter your desired quantity into our online pricing calculator to unlock tiered volume discounts.
What is Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing?
Direct-to-Film (DTF) is an advanced digital apparel decoration method. Your graphic is printed in full color onto a specialized PET carrier film, coated with a heat-activated adhesive powder, and bonded directly to the fabric using a commercial heat press. This technique delivers vivid color saturation, sharp edges, and natural elasticity that moves with the shirt.
Do you offer screen printing, Direct-to-Garment (DTG), or embroidery?
Not at this time. Our custom apparel line is produced exclusively with high-definition Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing, which provides superior color fidelity, stretch resilience, and photographic detail across dark and light garments without the high setup fees of traditional screen printing.
What digital artwork formats are supported?
Recommended (Vector): High-resolution vector PDF, Adobe Illustrator (.ai), or Encapsulated PostScript (.eps). Vector artwork scales infinitely without pixelation and ensures crisp alignment with our white ink underbase.
Accepted (Raster): High-resolution .png or .tiff files created at a minimum of 300 DPI at actual print scale, featuring a 100% transparent background.
Unsupported: Files such as .jpg, .webp, or Microsoft Office documents (.docx, .pptx) cannot be used because they do not support true transparency or introduce heavy compression artifacts that degrade print clarity.
Can you print graphics onto the sleeves?
Currently, print placements are limited to the front and back of the t-shirt. Sleeve printing is not available at this time.
What are the minimum and maximum printable dimensions?
Maximum Print Area: 12.0" W x 10.25" H. This ensures crisp, even edge-to-edge adhesion across standard heat press platens while preventing edge cool zones.
Minimum Standalone Graphic Area: 1.25" W x 0.5" H. Standalone graphics smaller than this threshold cannot hold sufficient adhesive powder, which increases the risk of corner peeling in the wash.
What are the minimum stroke weights, text heights, and detail limits?
To maintain wash-fastness and structural durability, standalone elements without a backing shape must meet these specifications:
Stroke / Line Width: Minimum 6 pt (2.12 mm). While fine lines down to 1.4 pt can physically print, a 6 pt thickness provides the necessary surface area for adhesive bonding.
Font Height: Minimum 10 pt (3.5 mm). This prevents closed inner letter counters (such as in e, a, and o) from filling in with ink or adhesive powder.
Isolated Elements & Symbols: Minimum 5 mm diameter. Standalone dots, micro-stars, or small legal symbols (like Β© or β’) below 5 mm lack sufficient surface area to grip the fabric securely.
Workaround for Micro-Details: If your design features intricate lines or fine lettering below these specs, place a solid contour shape or border behind the graphic (a "sticker cut" background). A solid backing guarantees full adhesive coverage, allowing fine interior details to render cleanly.
Can I submit trademarked imagery, brand logos, or licensed characters?
By uploading artwork, you confirm that you are the rightful copyright/trademark owner or hold formal, written authorization to reproduce the design. We do not independently verify intellectual property licensing; customers assume full legal and financial responsibility for any infringement claims, disputes, or legal costs resulting from unauthorized reproduction. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any print project suspected of violating copyright or trademark protections.
How is white ink handled in the printing workflow?
Our DTF systems utilize dedicated white ink both as an underbase for color vibrancy on colored garments and for visible white design features:
Vector Artwork (.pdf, .ai, .eps): All intended white elements must be mapped to a dedicated spot color named es_white. Any white areas left unassigned will be interpreted as empty space, meaning no white ink will lay down.
Raster Artwork (.png, .tiff): No manual spot color setup is required. The printer automatically generates white ink beneath visible artwork, provided the image background is completely transparent.
Will the printed fabric colors match my computer display exactly?
Screen displays generate color via emitted light (RGB), whereas commercial printers reproduce color using physical ink pigments (CMYK) transferred to fabric. Additionally, printing over a white underbase on darker shirts can introduce slight tonal differences compared to white shirts. While we calibrate our equipment for accurate color reproduction, an exact 1:1 match to uncalibrated digital displays cannot be guaranteed.
Can I request a shirt color that isn't listed on the site?
Our catalog features our most popular core stock colors. For high-volume or bulk orders, we can often source extended colorways from AS Colour upon request. Contact our customer support team with your target color and quantities to explore available options.
Are the neck tags removable for relabeling?
Yes. AS Colour Staple Tees come with tear-away neck labels, allowing brands and creators to cleanly remove them and add custom neck tags or branding.
Are there slight print placement variations from shirt to shirt?
Yes. While every garment is manually aligned against strict positioning tolerances, minor placement variances (typically within 0.5") can occur between individual shirts due to the handmade nature of apparel loading and heat pressing.
Can I buy blank, unprinted AS Colour t-shirts?
No. As an authorized AS Colour decorator, our contract permits us to supply AS Colour garments solely as customized, printed merchandise. Blank garments are not available for wholesale or retail purchase.
